Speroni keen to impress

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni is desperate to impress Eagles boss Peter Taylor, after making his first appearance of the season last weekend.

The 27-year-old Argentinian joined Palace in the summer of 2004 from Dundee, but has made just 17 appearances for the Selhurst Park club.

This term he had failed to feature before being called up for the 1-0 defeat at Derby County.

Speroni told the South London Press: "Every player wants to play every game, but I have not been able to do that since I have been here.

"I have one more season on my contract after this. I am quite happy to stay here and make a name for myself.

"I need to do that by playing as many games as I can."
