Speroni backing Davids

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni has admitted his surprise at the signing of Edgar Davids - but has backed the Dutch legend to be a hit at Selhurst Park.Eagles boss George Burley secured an amazing coup last month when he persuaded Davids, 37, to come out of retirement and join the Championship side."When you hear some things sometimes you think `it's not going to happen' but then we saw him here and it was exciting," said Speroni."He's a Champions League winner, he has played in World Cups, he's a big player and it will be very good, especially for the young players to look at him, take his example see how he trains."I think it is very positive to have him with us."
