Soares dampens move talk

England Under-21 international Tom Soares has cooled reports suggesting he is set for a summer switch from Crystal Palace to Blackburn Rovers.

The 21-year-old midfielder has already made more than 150 appearances for the Eagles since making his first-team debut in February 2004 and has played a key role in the club's rise up the Championship table this season.

However, Soares said of the speculation: "Obviously it's brilliant when you hear that Premier League clubs are interested in you, but I just want to concentrate on Palace.

"If I keep working hard things will take care of themselves, but, first things first, I want to help Palace get promoted.

"I'm confident I've got what it takes to be a Premier League player, but this is where I want to be at the moment."
