Post-match thoughts: Quick turnaround gives Palace chance to change things
Palace Mad takes a look at the Eagles loss at Carrow Road
Palace’s defeat to Norwich has halted the momentum they had been gathering over the last two games but it is not the end of the world to have lost.
The ‘unbeaten’ run lasted two games, but with two more big games coming up in less than a week there is no time to dwell on the loss at Carrow Road. Player’s and the supporters need to move on, as two positive results in the next two will make the spell of four games that have been much highlighted not look so bad.
Going into the game there was a lot of positive feeling from the Palace faithful that they would be able to come away from Norfolk with the win. There were chances for the Eagles, but they were unable to capitalise and the home side also had their own opportunities, only making the most of one in the end but it was the decisive one.
Tony Pulis will be looking to implement his own system and style of play, and this may not click immediately. But it is not like the Eagles were completely outplayed and hammered. They lost 1-0 to a fellow struggler away from home, where it is always traditionally more difficult to pick up points. Even Manchester City are experiencing that.
The most important thing to take from the game is that the team can turn things around very quickly with a result on Tuesday against West Ham, and then just days later against Cardiff. Once this run of games is over the Eagles can look back on the positives and negatives in order to move on, but for now they must focus on the next game.
