Palace snare midfield pair

Crystal Palace have made a double swoop by securing the services of midfield duo Shaun Derry and Neil Danns from Leeds United and Birmingham City respectively.

Thirty-year-old Derry has recently been on loan with the Eagles, having fallen out of favour at Elland Road under Dennis Wise and has now penned a permanent deal running until the summer of 2010.

Derry is in his second spell with Palace and has made just over 100 appearances for the Selhurst Park club in total.

Meanwhile, Danns, 25, joins Palace for an initial fee of £600,000, penning a contract running until the summer of 2011.

The former Blackburn Rovers youngster had been with the Blues since the summer of 2006, having risen to prominence with Colchester United.

However, he struggled to gain a regular starting spot with City, making just 16 starts and 23 appearances from the bench before being allowed to head to Palace.
