Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has confirmed that his summer spending will target new attacking threats.

"We're after one or two strikers," Warnock told BBC London, before explaining that his current attacking star, Clinton Morrison, is likely to leave the club.

Republic of Ireland hitman Morrison, 29, has been linked with Coventry City after rejecting a new contract and failing to appear in their pre-season training.

Yet the former Sheffield United boss was upbeat, insisting that Palace: "have got to rely on me making the one or two right signings that'll give us a chance.

"I thought we would have got somebody this week and it ended up that we lost him to another Championship club so you've just got to keep going and we realise we do need strengthening up there."
