Palace problems allow Lawrence back
The 35-year-old centre-half has been frozen out by manager Neil Warnock since the 4-0 drubbing by Scunthorpe at home in September. But with Warnock only able to name four substitutes against Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend, Lawrence, who is back in training after an injury, could be called upon to boost the threadbare squad. "With the squad we have Matt will be considered because we need as many players as possible," Warnock told the Croydon Guardian. "He is starting to train properly this week and if he is not ready for this weekend then he should be for the week after."
