Palace embargo lifted

Crystal Palace have had their transfer embargo lifted following a payment made to fellow Championship side Ipswich Town.

They signed striker Alan Lee last season for £650,000 and struggled to make the required payments to finalise the deal.

This forced the Football League authorities to impose the ban.

However, the money has now been paid and the club can now make signings, although chairman Simon Jordan has warned fans that they shouldn't expect changes during the January transfer window.

Speaking after the decision to lift the ban, Jordan said: "There will be no more transfers coming in during the January window."
