Palace close in on Hughes

Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has revealed that he is close to sealing a deal to bring Lincoln City winger Jeff Hughes to Selhurst Park.

Hughes has spent the last two seasons with the Red Imps but Jordan has lined up a £250,000 bid for the 22-year-old Ulsterman.

"We are in discussions with Lincoln and they are at an advanced stage," said the Eagles supremo.

"There is haggling involved in every deal."

Hughes has scored 11 goals in 68 appearances for Lincoln.
