More knee surgery for Wiggins

Crystal Palace full-back Rhoys Wiggins has had a knee operation that will force him to miss the opening three weeks of pre-season training.

The injured knee is the same one that kept Wiggins on the sidelines for 18 months from the summer of 2006 onwards.

First-team assistant physio Sangi Patel told Palace's official website: "In February, Rhoys sustained an injury to his knee which he continued playing on.

"After having exploratory surgery on his knee the surgeon found significant bone debris and bone bruising.

"This had to be repaired by the surgeon and he'll be out for the next three weeks while that heals. He's already started some of his rehab work and is set to see the consultant this week."
