Lawrence eyes Championship

Veteran defender Matt Lawrence is confident that he can still do a job in the Championship, as he prepares to leave Crystal Palace this summer.

The 35-year-old is out of contract with the Eagles and expects to be heading for pastures new before the new campaign gets underway.

He told the South London Press: "I want to stay in the Championship if I can and I'll go anywhere to do that.

"I went through a bad time this season when the gaffer didn't play me for three or four months and I started doubting myself.

"But I got back to playing well in the last few months. It made me realise it is a level of football I can sustain for at least one or even two more years."
