Kuqi rejects new Palace deal

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock has revealed that striker Shefki Kuqi has turned down a new contract to remain at Selhurst Park.

Kuqi, 32, was recently offered a new deal after winning back his first-team place, but now seems likely to be leaving the Eagles when his current deal expires at the end of the current season.

"I asked if he'd take a drop in wages and sign for another 18 months, but he doesn't really want to do that," revealed Warnock.

Kuqi joined Palace in August 2006, but had looked to be on his way out of the club 12 months ago following a fall-out with Warnock.

The Finnish striker was loaned out to Ipswich Town but has successfully rebuilt his reputation at the south London club this season.
