Hart rues Lawrence's red card

Paul Hart is convinced that his Crystal Palace team will remain in the Championship this season if they can replicate the character they showed in Tuesday's 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest.

The Eagles were forced to play for almost half of the game with ten men following Matt Lawrence's dismissal but still caused the home side numerous problems.

Hart said after the loss, which leaves his team in the bottom three: "The red card was a bit hard to swallow as, with 11 men on the field, I always felt we'd get something out of the game.

"I couldn't fault us for effort but I was just really disappointed we didn't see it out until half-time and started the second half all-square.

"We kept battling and that's what we'll continue to do because I still feel we can get out of the situation we're in.

"I've got a hard core of senior players who are bearing the brunt of the work and a lot of kids on the bench but we'll give everything we can to see us to safety."
