Guilfoyle admits sale is close

Crystal Palace administrator Brendan Guilfoyle has admitted the Championship club are close to being sold. The Londoners, who staved off relegation to League One after a final-day 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday, were docked ten points for entering administration earlier in the campaign after a succession of financial irregularities. However, Guilfoyle has admitted things are looking brighter following talks with the CPFC 2010 consortium, the group who are believed to be ready to lodge a formal bid to take over the Selhurst Park outfit. Seaking to Croydon Advertiser, he said: "I'm hoping I can get a sale agreement in place by the time of the meeting on Monday, then I can draw up my CVA (Company Voluntary Agreement) after that."
