    Freedman commits to Palace

    20 Jun 2007 - 11:22:32

Veteran Crystal Palace striker Dougie Freedman has ended doubts about his future at Selhurst Park by agreeing to sign a new two-year contract with Peter Taylor's side.

The 32-year-old Scot is currently Palace's longest-serving player and has netted 106 times in all competitions in his two spells with the club.

After coming through the youth team ranks at QPR, Freedman moved to Barnet, scoring 27 goals in only 47 League appearances for the Bees.

His form earned him an £800,000 move to Palace in September 1995 and he found the net on 31 occasions in 90 League games for the club before going on to seal big-money moves to Wolves and Nottingham Forest.

Freedman returned to the Eagles in a £600,000 move almost seven years ago and has scored 63 goals in 137 starts and 81 substitute appearances during his second spell at Selhurst Park.
