Austria international Johannes Ertl is hopeful that he may be able to forge a future with Crystal Palace.
The 26-year-old made only a handful of starts in his first season with the Eagles, but has shown up well in pre-season after settling into a new role as a defensive midfielder.
He told the Croydon Advertiser: "I feel comfortable at the club. I've not spoken to Neil Warnock about my future since returning for pre-season.
"He told me at the end of last season to return and that's what I've done.
"I like the position I've played over the past couple of games and I'll keep on going.
"I can play in several positions, but I feel very comfortable playing in central midfield. I feel it fits me."
