Eagles swoop for Hughes
05 Jul 2007 - 07:40:43
Crystal Palace boss Peter Taylor is pleased with the signings he has already made this summer, after snapping up Lincoln City's highly-rated left-back Jeff Hughes.
Taylor swooped to sign Millwall defender Tony Craig on a three-year deal last month and is delighted with both purchases.
He told the club's official website: "It's not easy to find good left-backs, but I'm delighted to get both Tony Craig and Jeff Hughes, because I think they're potentially excellent full-backs and can also play in other positions.
"They're young, raring to go, both left-footed and it will help the balance of the team."
Hughes scored 11 goals in 68 appearances for the Red Imps after making his debut for the club less than two years ago.
