Crystal Palace moved quickly to fill the void created by Shefki Kuqi's departure to Fulham on deadline day by landing Paul Dickov from Manchester City.
Kuqi joined the Premier League club on loan until January on before Friday's transfer deadline and Dickov has arrived at Selhurst Park on a similar basis.
The 34-year-old had not featured in the league for City since Sven-Goran Eriksson was installed as the new manager on the eve of the new season.
The former Scotland international's last appearance was as a late substitute during City's 2-1 Carling Cup second round victory over Bristol City last month.
He started just nine games last season.
