Crystal Palace have opened talks with Shaun Derry about making his loan switch from Leeds United permanent.
The 30-year-old midfielder has made 12 appearances for the Eagles during his loan spell at Selhurst Park and looks certain to leave Leeds after failing to start a game for Dennis Wise's side in over a year.
A brief statement on Leeds' official website read: "The club can confirm discussions are ongoing with Crystal Palace regarding the potential transfer of Shaun Derry.
"Shaun's loan spell at Selhurst Park came to an end on Saturday - he played in their 2-0 win against Bristol City - and talks are continuing about making the move permanent."
Derry moved to Elland Road from Palace in February 2005 and has made 78 appearances for the club.
