Crystal Palace and Watford have been fined £25,000 by the Football Association following a fractious encounter between the two clubs on August 9.

The Championship teams admitted failing to control their players and/or officials during the game.

The Selhurst Park clash erupted just after the hour mark when Lee Williamson's poor challenge on Matt Lawrence provoked a 20-man brawl which resulted in the Watford midfielder and Eagles captain Shaun Derry being booked.

The game eventually ended in a goalless draw.
