Eagles land Halls on loan

Crystal Palace have landed Reading defender John Halls on a month's loan.

The 25-year-old has recently returned to the Premier League club following a similar loan spell at Preston North End where he made four appearances.

Halls started his career at Arsenal before joining Stoke City four years ago, having made just three substitute appearances in the League Cup.

The left-back was signed by the Royals in January 2006, but has started only one league game for Steve Coppell's side.

Halls could make his debut in Saturday's Championship clash with Wolves.
