Eagles hopeful over Danns

Crystal Palace are hopeful that injured midfielder Neil Danns could resume training in two weeks.

Danns, 25, has started just two games since joining the Eagles from Birmingham City in January after being sidelined with a groin injury.

But, despite being out of action since March, Palace number two Keith Curle has revealed the midfielder is closing in on a return to training.

"Touch wood he's a couple of weeks away from actual football training," he told the Croydon Guardian.

"He's been working his socks off with the physios morning and afternoon building up his strength and he's progressed now to doing off-line running.

"It's just the football movement he needs to do now."
