Eagles close to two deals
27 Jun 2007 - 12:32:28
Crystal Palace manager Peter Taylor has revealed he is close to signing a pair of players from lower league clubs.
The Eagles boss has agreed a deal with London rivals Millwall to sign defender Tony Craig.
Meanwhile, Taylor is also optimistic of signing Jeff Hughes from League Two side Lincoln City, as he looks to bolster a defence that will soon lose out-of-contract left-back Gary Borrowdale.
"I can confirm we have agreed things with Millwall and I am hopeful it will be completed," he told the South London Press referring to the imminent arrival of Craig.
"I will be disappointed to lose Gary, but I am delighted to get someone like Tony in. We are also speaking to Lincoln about Jeff Hughes.
"It would be terrific to get both players as they would really help our squad."
