Eagles appoint Hart as manager
02 Mar 2010 - 16:50:35
Paul Hart is back in management after being handed his third coaching job of a turbulent season by Crystal Palace.
Palace are in administration but were forced to seek a new manager after Neil Warnock left for Championship rivals QPR on Monday.
Ironically, Rangers are one of the clubs Hart has managed this season.
The 56-year-old former Nottingham Forest and Barnsley boss lasted just five games at Loftus Road at the turn of the year after being handed the reins at the Championship side following his departure from Portsmouth in November.
Hart had been at the helm of the crisis-torn Premier League club for eight difficult months after stepping up from his role as academy coach to caretaker manager and ultimately first-team coach.
"Crystal Palace can confirm that Paul Hart is the new manager," read a brief club statement.
"Former Palace striker Dougie Freedman will be assistant manager and another ex-Eagle, John Pemberton, will be first-team coach."
Hart's immediate task is to keep the ailing Eagles in the Championship as they currently languish down in 21st place in the table.
