Derry denies Palace unrest

Crystal Palace skipper Shaun Derry has rubbished reports of dressing room unrest after the players exchanged "home truths" following Saturday's defeat to Plymouth Argyle.

The Eagles lost 2-1 at home to leave them in the bottom four of the Championship table and afterwards the players spent 30 minutes in the dressing room discussing their inconsistent start to the season.

"It wasn't a two or three minute chat - we were in there a good 20-30 minutes," Derry to the Croydon Guardian.

"But don't for one minute think it was a crisis talk as it is far too early in the season for that.

"Things were said, I said a few home truths and hopefully that can be a catalyst.

"You know when things have hit home - you look at the faces of the players and realise that it does hurt. We are all going to take the chat in a positive way.

"Only time will tell if it has any effect, but I am certainly looking for a reaction."
