Beattie start delights Warnock

Manager Neil Warnock hailed the speed at which Craig Beattie has found his feet at Crystal Palace, after the on-loan striker scored the winner against Charlton Athletic on Tuesday.

The Scotland international marked his Selhurst Park debut with the winner as the Eagles beat their south London rivals courtesy of his second-half strike.

Beattie had started the new campaign on the sidelines in the Premier League at West Bromwich Albion.

"He has given us something over the last two games," claimed Warnock.

"He only came in on Thursday, had one session on Friday and then played out of his skin in the draw at Ipswich on Saturday and continued tonight.

"It works well for both of us. He needs some games and he's come in at the right time for us.

"We are playing 20 or 30 yards further up the pitch now and getting a lot more of the ball. It's been a great two weeks for us."
