Administration woe for Palace

Crystal Palace have been forced to enter administration for the second time in just over a decade.

The Eagles are currently in ninth place in the Championship, but a ten-point penalty will see them hurtle down the table towards the relegation places.

A statement from administrators the P & A Partnership read: "This club has been in the spotlight for some months with creditors pressing for payments and players anxious about their wages.

"Our role now is to find a buyer quickly to provide certainty for the employees, players and fans for the future. We are hoping our appointment will be short-lived as we understand there are many interested buyers."

Palace manager Neil Warnock had earlier vowed to carry on in his position: "I've had easier challenges, I think. We've got to be positive and that's what we're doing.

"I'm still enjoying it. If you don't enjoy it, in our circumstances it would be easy to get on my tractor, but me and the chairman have got a challenge. We're both fighters, we've both got our critics but we'll stick together and try and get out of the hole we're in."
