Warnock slams 'infringement' claims

Sears' shot was clearly over the line during the clash at Ashton Gate but when referee Rob Shoebridge did not award the goal, it was initially assumed to be a dreadful error from the official. City manager Gary Johnson has been told the goal was not given because the assistant referee flagged for an infringement, but Warnock does not accept that explanation. "I have spoken to the referee and I want to confirm that the linesman did not give an infringement," Warnock told BBC Five Live. "The referee assures me there was no infringement whatsoever and that he just missed it when two players blocked his view for that split-second and none of his officials could help him out. "Within 10 or 15 minutes after the event the fourth official tried to tell me there might have been an infingement, which everybody knew was ridiculous. After the game the referee confirmed to me there was no infringement. He was hoping one of his officials could see the ball, but none of them saw it."
