Warnock praise for Academy starlet

The 18-year-old winger was sent on after an hour with his side trailing to Aron Gunnarsson's first-half header, and he made a name for himself just 12 minutes later by pouncing on a defensive error and coolly tucking away the equaliser. "I'm ever so pleased for him, he's done really well over the last four or five weeks," said Warnock. "He was brilliant in pre-season, so I offered him a contract and then he broke his leg. "He's one of a group of them and it's nice to blood them now. That freshness is there and I don't want it to just drag on until the end of the season. "He should be in the reserves tomorrow but I've told him no, he won't sleep tonight." Coventry went ahead in the 31st minute when Gunnarsson met Isaac Osbourne's cross with a powerful header. Gunnarsson should have put the game to bed after the break, but he skied a shot from eight yards and saw another effort cleared off the line by Lee Hills. And City were made to pay when Ben Turner let a Victor Moses pass run through his legs, only for Cadogan to nip in, round goalkeeper Keiren Westwood and tuck the ball home. Coventry boss Chris Coleman admitted his side had thrown away the chance of victory. "If we had got the second goal then we could have gone on to get the third and the fourth," said Coleman. "We were the team pushing to win the game, but they didn't have to work hard for their goal. "Ben Turner isn't that type of player, usually the ball is in the stand or 60 yards up the pitch, so I don't know why he did it. "He made a mistake and it cost us two points, but his performance tonight did not deserve that." Neither side have much to play for, treading water in mid-table, but Coleman will not let the season fade away. "We are looking to get as many points as possible to finish as high as we can," he added. "Last season we finished fourth from bottom and were humiliated 4-1 by Charlton on the last day. "So to get as far away as we can from fourth from bottom will be an improvement. Then next season we have to improve by another six or eight places to get into the play-offs."
