Warnock cautious over Speroni

Speroni, Palace's player of the year last season, missed Saturday's defeat by Newcastle on doctor's advice after taking a whack to the throat at Ipswich in the week. The Argentine should be fit to face City, but Warnock may hold him back for league duty and Monday's trip to Peterborough. "He might play on Thursday. He wanted to play on Saturday but the specialist said no, so just to be safe we thought we'd keep him back," said Warnock. "I'm not really too bothered about the cup, as long as he's all right for Peterborough. I might rest one or two in the cup."
