Warnock bides time over Smith
The former Millwall, Derby, Arsenal and Leicester forward was released by Southampton at the end of last season and has been on trial at Selhurst Park.
But Palace boss Warnock is prepared to wait to judge Smith after the player suffered a hamstring injury.
"We've had Ryan on trial here - but he's pulled a hamstring so we can't have a proper look at him at the moment," Warnock told the Croydon Advertiser.
"We think he will be out for three weeks, he is still with us so we will have a look at him once he's playing."
