Virus hit Palace preparations

Crystal Palace manager George Burley revealed a virus swept through the club before Saturday's defeat by Swansea. Midfielder Owen Garvan had to come off during the first half while Burley sent out a patched-up side after Alex Marrow and Kieron Cadogan were ruled out. "We have had an illness bug in the camp this week," said Burley. "Owen had it at the start of the week but wanted to play, but then had to come off early on. "Alex and Keiron had to go hame before the game so we were lacking players in midfield."
