Crystal Palace striker James Vaughan has been called into the England Under-21 squad for the first time. Boss Stuart Pearce has turned to the on-loan Everton forward for Tuesday's clash with Italy in Tuscany after being hit with a host of injuries. Vaughan has scored twice since he returned to Selhurst Park last month, including the winner in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough. Meanwhile, Palace defender Nathaniel Clyne has pulled out of the England Under-20 squad to play France on Wednesday due to injury.
