Mixed feelings for Tykes boss
Goalkeeper Julian Speroni almost single-handedly kept Barnsley at bay at Oakwell as Crystal Palace picked up what could prove to be a precious point in their battle against relegation from the Championship.[LNB]Paul Hart's side were on the back foot for much of the game as Barnsley looked to bounce back from their 6-1 thumping at leaders Newcastle last time out.[LNB]But the hosts could not find a way past an inspired Speroni and Palace held on to claim a share of the spoils.[LNB]Robins said: "I am glad we kept a clean sheet after last week's hammering.[LNB]I am pleased with our keeper (David Preece) after last week's performance. He is a professional and has worked at his game. He hasn't had a massive amount to do but what he has done has been good.[LNB]"I thought we were good value for the three points. On another day we could have had three or four goals but I am pleased with the performance."[LNB]He added: "Crystal Palace came and did a job and I thought their keeper was excellent and kept them in the game."[LNB]Barnsley should have wrapped the points up by half-time but their last touch always let them down.[LNB]In the fifth minute Adam Hamill's cross from the right found Filipe Teixeira but he chipped the ball over from eight yards.[LNB]Two minutes later Hamill hit a right foot shot from the edge of the area over.[LNB]Their best chance came when Daniel Bogdanovic beat the Palace offside trap and raced 20 yards into their area.[LNB]He tried to place the ball past Julian Speroni but the keeper caught it.[LNB]Minutes later, Bogdanovic was again denied by the keeper when his shot from the edge of the area was palmed round the post.[LNB]Teixeira also missed a good chance in the second half and Ryan Shotton saw his header saved.[LNB]Palace boss Paul Hart said: "I thought (Speroni) was excellent.[LNB]Week after week he goes about his job; I think he is a terrific goalkeeper."[LNB]He added: "I am delighted with the result. I think we weren't firing on all cylinders. We showed tremendous courage.[LNB]"The senior players were a great example for all the younger players.[LNB]"We are in a tricky situation and if we had not had the points deducted we would be challenging for the play offs."[LNB][LNB]
