John eager for Eagles chance
John has made two substitute appearances, against Cardiff and Leicester, since suffering a dislocated elbow on the opening day of the season.
"I'm over the moon to be back because it has been eight weeks of frustration as I could do everything but play," he said.
"I can play with no problems now, though, and I just want the manager to give me a chance."
John is looking forward to being involved when Palace host his former club Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
"I have friends and family still in Nottingham and they gave me an opportunity to show what I can do with a football and I am grateful for that, but obviously I want to win," he added.
