Grax boosts chances

Former Monaco striker Sebastian Grax boosted his chances of a contract at Crystal Palace with a goal in their friendly defeat by West Ham. The 26-year-old Frenchman, handed a trial by Eagles boss George Burley, collected a flick-on from Calvin Andrew and fired home. Also on target was a player named Edgar - but sadly not the former Dutch international Edgar Davids, who Palace are being linked with a move for. Instead, Hammers youngster Anthony Edgar weighed in with a double as the east Londoners ran out 2-1 winners.
