Eagles striker set for surgery
The 22-year-old suffered a freak injury while on loan at Brighton when, during the final game of last season, he collided with a goalpost and snapped his cruciate knee ligament.
"Devastated isn't the word and I am still trying to get my head around it," the former Luton frontman told the Croydon Guardian.
"I know I have got the attributes to get in the team, but unfortunately I now won't be able to take part in the start of the season."
