Defensive headache for Eagles boss
Claude Davis is serving the final game of his three-match ban and his replacement at centre-half, Matt Lawrence, is now also suspended following his red card at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.[LNB]Danny Butterfield is unlikely to feature after hobbling off at Forest with a hamstring injury, Nathaniel Clyne remains doubtful with groin trouble and Paddy McCarthy suffered a setback in his recovery from shoulder surgery.[LNB]That means boss Paul Hart could have just two recognised defenders available in Clint Hill and Lee Hills.[LNB]Austrian international Johnny Ertl could drop back into defence if required.[LNB]Midfielder Nick Carle missed out at the City Ground with a knock and will be checked over.[LNB][LNB]
