Davids out but Davis back for Palace

George Burley will be without the experience of Edgar Davids for the first time when Crystal Palace host Watford. The 37-year-old former Barcelona and Inter Milan midfielder left the club by mutual consent on Monday. Sean Scannell and Lee Hills remain sidelined with knee injuries and on-loan defender Anthony Gardner remains a doubt due to the groin problem that has kept him out of the last two games. Claude Davis has served his four-match ban for being sent-off in the 1-0 defeat at Millwall and could go straight back into the starting line-up following three successive defeats. Teenager Wilfried Zaha will be pushing for a starting berth after signing a new four-and-a-half year contract with the club this week but Burley is likely to continue with Pablo Counago and James Vaughan up front.
