Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock vows to keep things in perspective

NEIL WARNOCK told his players to keep things in perspective ahead of last night’s impressive victory at Portman Road. Palace had been reeling from their weekend defeat at Bristol City after a legitimate Freddie Sears goal was missed by the referee. But Warnock claimed that watching the news headlines on television made him realise the setback at Ashton Gate wasn’t the end of the world. He said: ‘In the space of a minute I heard about a 10-year-old girl being killed at Clacton, an 18-month-old baby that died falling off a balcony and three soldiers dying in Afghanistan. ‘I said to the players, ‘Bloody hell, we only lost a game of football. Let’s keep things in perspective’.’ Darren Ambrose scored twice to take his tally for four for the season and set up Neil Danns for the third goal last night as Palace banished all thoughts of the events in Bristol. Warnock said: ‘It was nice to get the injustice of Saturday out of the way. Not just winning but playing the way we did with a great attitude. ‘We broke with quality, looked solid at the back and inventive in midfield. ‘I couldn’t have asked for better.’
