Burley: January key for changes

Crystal Palace manager George Burley is considering a shake-up of his squad in the January transfer window. The Eagles have only tasted victory once in eight league games and fell to the foot of the Championship table following the 3-0 home defeat by Swansea on Saturday. Burley currently has no funds available to bring in players but would have money available in January if he decides not to extend the loan contracts of James Vaughan, Anthony Gardner, Julian Bennett and Alex Marrow, whose short-term deals are due to expire by the new year, and cancel Jon Obika's work experience loan from Tottenham. Burley told the South London Press: "We're not tied down on these deals and we can adjust them in the window. "January is going to be key to changing things around a bit. Some of the loan players have worked and some maybe haven't - it can happen that way."
