Burley frustrated at Palace showing

Crystal Palace boss George Burley was left disappointed after seeing his side crash to a third successive npower Championship defeat in a 3-0 loss at Scunthorpe. Two goals from Jonathan Forte and a Michael O'Connor penalty condemned Palace to defeat which leaves them on three points from their opening four games. And Burley, who brought Edgar Davids to the club earlier this week, admits that he may have to bring in some extra steel into his squad if they are to prevent a season of struggle. "We are trying to rebuild this club and clearly there is a lot of hard work ahead of us," he said. "We have used a lot of young players in the early games this season but perhaps now is the time to bring in some experience and that's what I will be trying to do in the next few days before the transfer window closes. "We have got Edgar Davids here with us now and I'm sure he will have been disappointed after this performance because he's a winner.
