Burley bemoans luck

Crystal Palace boss George Burley claimed luck was not on his team's side after they crashed 2-1 at fellow strugglers Middlesbrough. Tony Mowbray collected his first win in charge of Boro thanks to a Tarmo Kink strike and a stoppage-time own-goal from Palace's Paddy McCarthy after Pablo Counago's first-half goal had put the Eagles ahead. Burley said: "Both goals took deflections. But that is what happens when you are down there. "Sometimes luck goes against you when you are struggling and all these things, the bounces, the deflections, they all go against you. "But I'm very pleased with the way we played in the first half. We started brightly and took the game to Boro and if we can reproduce that in the weeks to come then we can find a way out of it. "But Middlesbrough kept pressing us in the second half and getting players and the ball forward and when you are under such pressure sometimes things go against you."
