Crystal Palace midfielder Darren Ambrose will begin talks over a new contract after telling manager George Burley he wants to stay at Selhurst Park. Ambrose, who scored 20 goals to help preserve the Eagles Championship status last term, had looked set to join London rivals QPR earlier this summer in a £750,00 deal and he was even believed to have passed a medical at Loftus Road. But in a surprise u-turn the 26-year-old now looks set to stay with Palace and a delighted Burley told the Croydon Advertiser: "We've had some good news from Darren. "He's told me that he wants to stay and we are going to begin talks about getting him signed up on a new long-term contract."
