Darren Ambrose has praised manager Dougie Freedman after Crystal Palace secured their npower Championship status. Freedman, who took over the reigns at Selhurst Park following the departure of George Burley in January, saw his side avoid relegation after a 1-1 draw with Hull on Saturday. The former Ipswich, Newcastle and Charlton midfielder was quick to hail the impact Freedman has made in such a short amount of time. "We'd had a difficult first half of the season and Dougie brought the spirit back and made us harder to beat," he told the South London Press. "When he took charge we had the worst goal difference in the league and he changed that. "We were solid home and away and all credit to Dougie - Lennie Lawrence and Tony Popovic have been fantastic as well."
