Croatia have sacked head coach Niko Kovac with two group matches of their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign remaining.
Kovac was removed following a 0-0 draw with Azerbaijan and 2-0 loss to Norway which left Croatia in third place in Group H.
A statement on the Croatian Football Federation's official Twitter feed said: "HNS Executive Committee decided to part ways with head coach Niko Kovac after results in Baku and Oslo. #EuropeanQualifiers.
"Search for a new head coach will be led by president Davor Suker and technical director Romeo Jozak. New coach is expected by 21 September."
Croatia are just one point behind second-placed Norway and three adrift of leaders Italy, with matches against Bulgaria and Malta to come on October 10 and 13 respectively.
They are guaranteed at least third place and a spot in the qualifying play-offs.
