Croatian police arrest dozens of fans

Police arrested more than 90 Croatian football fans after a violent clash at a highway toll, officials said Saturday.

Seven people were arrested in the clash late Friday between the two rival groups, while four toll booths on a highway linking the capital Zagreb and coastal town Rijeka. Six vehicles were also damaged, Hina news agency quoted police as saying.

Supporters of Rijeka and Istra 1961 Pula clashed while on their way to the capital for regular matches for the Croatian first league championship.

In mid-September, more than 100 Croatian fans were arrested ahead of a highly-charged match between Hadjuk Split and Dinamo Zagreb.
