Woodards set for Alex talks

Crewe Alexandra boss Gudjon Thordarson hopes to convince Danny Woodards that his future lies at Gresty Road.

The former Exeter City midfielder is out of contract in the summer and has hinted in the past that he saw his future elsewhere.

However, Thordarson is keen to keep one of his key assets, saying: "I have discussed Danny's situation with the chairman and the board and they know where I stand with that. I would like him to stay.

"I will talk to him shortly to see if we have a chance of him staying with us.

"I will be looking to start doing that next week and hopefully the response I will get will be positive and then we will take it from there."
