Williams talk baffles Dario

Technical director Dario Gradi has dismissed reports suggesting Owain Fon Williams is set to leave Crewe Alexandra and move to a Premier League club.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper has still to make a first-team start for Alex, but impressed in the recent Wales Under-21s clash against France.

Gradi told the club's official website: "I don't know where these stories come from nowadays.

"Owain's played for the Welsh Under-21s and did very well, so it's only natural for him to get some exposure.

"Saying that he hasn't even made his competitive debut for us yet and he's being linked with a move to the Premier League.

"No-one has asked us about him and Owain understands that he has a challenge on his hands to displace Ben Williams here."
