Vaughan suffers setback

Crewe Alexandra midfielder David Vaughan looks set to miss the rest of the season after aggravating a groin injury against Brentford on Easter Monday.

The 24-year-old Welshman was making his first League One start for more than two months, but had to be substituted in the closing stages of the 3-1 win against the division's bottom club.

Assistant manager Neil Baker told the Sentinel: "It's a blow for us because he'd looked good before coming off and he took his goal well.

"However, we now have the summer to work with David and it opens up the door for someone else to play in the remaining games."
